The ancient city of Cologne offers much for the visitor. This wooded park is pleasantly situated along the river bank, with wide grass areas on either side of narrow tarmac access roads with low wire mesh fencing separating it from the public park and riverside walks. There are 140 unmarked, level or slightly undulating touring pitches, all with 16A electricity and there is shade for some from various mature trees. Tents have their own large area. Because of its position close to the autobahn bridge over the Rhine, there is road and river noise.

Cologne has many museums (including the popular Museum of Chocolate), art galleries, opera and open-air concerts, as well as the famous Cathedral. The Phantasialand theme park is close by at Brühl and the zoo and Rhine cruises are among other attractions.

The toilet block, which has been totally renovated, is heated with free hot water in washbasins and by a 50 cent coin in the showers. Accessible facilities. Large open-fronted room for cooking and eating with microwave oven. Washing machine and dryer. Small shop for bread and basic supplies (mid May-Sept). Evening snacks (March-Oct). Fishing. Bicycle hire. Drinks machine. WiFi (charged).

Directions to Campingplatz Stadt Köln

Leave A4 at exit 13 for Köln-Poll (just to west off intersection of A3 and A4). Turn left at first traffic lights and follow site signs through a sometimes fairly narrow one-way and two-way traffic system to the riverside, back towards the motorway bridge.
