Ostseebad Rerik is on the Baltic coast 27 kilometres north of Wismar, between the open sea and a salt lake. It is within walking distance of Rerik, once a fishing village, now a quiet resort with restaurants, sandy beach and 170 m. long pier. The small church of St John the Evangelist is decorated with beautiful frescoes and the bell tower is open to the public. The site has 200 pitches (100 sq.m), 80 with electricity hook-up and 35 fully serviced. The remainder are for tents. This would be a good choice for anyone looking for a quiet holiday close to the sea, but with plenty of water-based activities to hand. This stretch of coastline can be quite blustery and is popular with surfers - keep your eyes open for the pieces of amber that can often be found on the beach.

Leave 105 motorway at Kröpelin and take L122 in the direction of Rerik. Before town, look out for right turn onto Str. am Zeltpl. At end of this road, turn right and site entrance is 50 m. further on right.
