This is a basic, rural site less than a kilometre walk from a pretty Flemish village with a tourist information office, cafés, bars and shops. The site extends up the slopes of Kemmelberg, the highest point in West Flanders. The 230 seasonal pitches are on the upper part of the site, while 50 grass touring pitches are by the site entrance on firm, level ground. There are an additional 20 hardstandings for motorhomes and a separate tent field. All the pitches have 6A electric hook-up available. Cabins and pods are available for hire. English, Dutch, French and German are spoken.

There are a wide range of waymarked walks and cycle routes near the site and it is ideally placed for visiting the many First World War military museums and cemeteries between Ieper and Poperinge (the Passchendaele Experience and Memorial Museum perhaps the most comprehensive). Many can be reached by public transport from the site (the owner will advise). In addition, the site has its own small fishing lake.

Facilities at Camping Ypra

The sanitary facilities are located in five traditional blocks across the site (two can be heated) and have modern showers and toilets. Those by the touring area have basic accessible sanitary facilities. Laundry with washing machines and dryers. Shop for basics. Bar. Fishing. Tennis courts. Play area. Children’s entertainment (July/Aug). Bicycle hire. WiFi.

Directions to Camping Ypra

From N33 Poperinge bypass turn south onto N304 at roundabout (Reningelst). Pass through Reningelst and Klyte towards Kemmel. Turn right at site signpost at edge of Kemmel.
