Alan Rogers Review of Camping Winkl-Landthal
Camping Winkl-Landthal is situated in the heart of the Berchtesgadener Land in the Berchtesgaden National Park, close to the Austrian border, and an ideal base for activities in this region. There are 80 touring pitches to choose from all with electric hook-up points available. In summer, the idyllic pitches on the clear mountain stream are very popular. These pitches on the stream are quiet and offer a view of the mountains. Higher up the campsite is quieter and the views of the Alps are even more spectacular. There isn't much to go by when it comes to amenities on site but there is a bar, and daily bread delivery service available. For the younger family members, there is a small children's playground and table tennis available too.
The campsite is an excellent base for exploring the Berchtesgaden National Park. Some popular hiking trails include the Malerwinkel Trail, the Watzmann Panorama Trail, and the Jennerbahn Hiking Trail. The area also has many biking trails, including the Berchtesgaden Radweg, a long-distance trail that goes through the entire national park. You can swim in the Königssee, a beautiful lake just a few kilometres from the campsite, where you can also rent boats. You can also Visit the Kehlsteinhaus, a mountaintop teahouse that offers stunning views of the surrounding area.
