Alan Rogers Review of Camping Village Paradiso
Just 20 km north of Pisa and its famous leaning tower and a 90-minute drive from gorgeous Florence, Camping Village Paradiso enjoys a prime location. Even better, it's just a short walk through the woodland path among the pine trees and sand dunes to the long sandy beach. It's a large family-friendly site with excellent facilities that evolve around a central courtyard containing the campsite shop, restaurants and bar.
Cycling or walking into nearby Viareggio is easy. You'll find a lovely traditional beachfront with long sandy beaches, plenty of shops, and useful supermarkets. Back on the site, there's a good swimming pool, fully supervised, and the 90 pitches are well laid out, clearly marked, and of average size. There's good shade to some, thanks to the variety of mature trees, cypress and colourful oleander shrubs and hedging. Some 80 pitches are equipped with electric hook-up points.
Most activities at this campsite centre around the pool area or the central courtyard, with daytime activities, pool side and evening entertainment in the courtyard. The on-site shop is very well stocked with fresh produce, and pizza is served from the campsite bar. |
Facilities at Camping Village Paradiso
Three sanitary blocks all clean with baby change and accessible facilities, as well as a laundry room. Shuttle bus to beach July/Aug, Evening entertainment Bar/Restaurant, shop, bazaar - selling beach/camping equipment. Children's playground. Outdoor swimming pool. WiFi. Bicycle rental. Pets allowed. 'Quiet time' in operation between 2-3pm.
Directions to Camping Village Paradiso
Leave the SS1 or A12 and head for the centre of Viareggio, following Viale Mario Tobino at roundabout 2nd exit on to Via Della Force sp Viareggio, next roundabout 3rd exit on to Via Guglielmo Oberdan 0.2 mile turn left on to Via Virgilio then right on to Via del’lindi-Pendenza, in 1 mile right on to via dei Comparing, then left via die Tigli, next left into site. You may have to remove barriers, but this circumnavigates most restrictions.
