Alan Rogers Review
Camping le Val de Bonnal is an impressive, generally peaceful, well managed site in a large country estate, designed to blend harmoniously with the surrounding countryside, well away from main roads and other intrusions. The site itself is very busy, with a wide range of activities and amenities. The 280 very good sized, landscaped pitches (200 for touring units) with 6/10A electricity are separated by a mixture of trees and shrubs. Six of these pitches are fully serviced with water, drainage, fridge and garden furniture. As well as the 30 mobile homes the site has to rent, there are many to rent from major tour operators. The main attraction here must be the variety of watersports on the three large lakes and nearby river.
The range of activities available in high season is almost inexhaustible, not to say exhausting! There are also numerous places to explore in the area, and reception has plenty of information.
Four toilet blocks include a new one with excellent facilities. Washbasins in cabins, suites for disabled visitors and facilities for children and babies. Laundry facilities. Riverside restaurant, snack bar/takeaway, bar and terrace, shop (all 7/5-6/9). Swimming pool complex with water slides and a splash park for children with 20 water games. Well equipped play areas. Sport and fitness facilities. Boules. Bicycle hire. Watersports. Fishing on the river and lake. Fitness suite. WiFi in some areas (charged).
From Vesoul take D9 towards Villersexel. After 20 km. turn right in Esprels signed Val-de-Bonnal. Continue for 3.5 km. to site on left. From autoroute A36, exit Baume-les-Dames; go north on D50, then D486 to Rougemont and follow site signs.Link to campsite location map on google
