A small, attractive campsite, Tonnara is situated on the west side of Sant’Antioco island in the southwest corner of Sardinia. Access to the island is via a causeway and Tonnara is in the pretty Cala Sapone inlet with its delightful private sandy beach and rocky outcrops.

The 150 sandy pitches (with 6A electricity) are terraced down to the sea with small trees and some artificial shade. Some are very close to the beach and most enjoy fabulous views of the inlet. The local seafood is good and cooked to perfection in the small restaurant where you can sit out on the terrace and watch the sunsets. The pool is very relaxing.

This is a lovely site with a great atmosphere and we enjoyed our visit here. The island has a rich history and the site invests in this by introducing you to information on the ancient ruins of Punic Roman settlements hereabouts. The beach alongside the site is great, with soft sand and fine stones. A very pleasant site indeed. There is also the possibility to reserve boat tours to visit the most suggestive coast corners in Sant’Antioco or Carloforte.

Facilities at Camping Tonnara

Two modern sanitary blocks have both squat toilets and British style toilets, washbasins (cold water only) and great hot showers. Accessible facilities. Superb facilities for children. Baby bathing area. Washing machine. Motorhome services. Neat little shop. Restaurant and snack bar (all season). Swimming pool (caps compulsory). Two well equipped play areas. Bicycle hire. Tennis. Bocce. Beach. Beach volleyball. Sub-aqua diving arranged. rental of kayaks and paddle boards, Excursions. Free WiFi No barbecues allowed. Torches essential.

Directions to Camping Tonnara

Site is on island of Sant’Antioco on southwest coast of Sardinia. Go over the causeway and immediately at the end, turn left and left again at T-junction towards Cala Sapone (site is well signed).
