Alan Rogers Review of Camping Maisonneuve
This family run site is beautifully situated in the Céou Valley, in the Périgord. There are 140 spacious touring pitches, all with 6/10A electricity. Some are well separated, whilst others are on two open, grassy areas. Most pitches have some shade. The site’s facilities are grouped around the old farmhouse. Swimming, fishing and canoeing are all possible in the Céou river which borders the site and can be accessed directly. There are also swimming and paddling pools on site and in high season entertainment is organised several evenings each week. This is an excellent location from which to explore the beautiful region of the Périgord.
Culture lovers can visit the town of Sarlat and the castle at Castelnaud. Sports lovers can experience canoeing on the Dordogne, caving or hiking. Weekly canoeing trips are run from the site, a bus collects from the gate and returns afterwards. Shops and supermarkets are in nearby Sarlat and Saint Cyprien where regular markets are also held. A short drive away in the Valley of the Lot is the cliff-hanging monastery of Rocamadour and the Padriac caves with underground river. Reception keeps a wide range of tourist information and the campsite owner will be more than willing to help you choose. English is spoken.

Three heated sanitary blocks, one has been totally refurbished, are kept clean and tidy. Facilities for babies and accessible facilities. Family shower room. Laundry. Bar (all season). Shop with bread, snack bar, takeaway (all July/Aug). Swimming and paddling pools (1/5-15/10). Minigolf. Play areas. TV room. Games room. Dance evenings. Karaoke. Sports tournaments. Canoe trips. Climbing. WiFi in reception and courtyard (free). Dogs allowed.
Directions to Camping Maisonneuve
From A20 exit 55 take D703 towards Sarlat and Beynac. Follow signs for D57 (Castelnaud la Chappelle). Site is well signed on edge of village. Caravans and large units over 5 m. continue on D57 for 2 km. then turn left. Narrow road - passing difficult. Site is signed here at junction with D50.
