Rosselba le Palme is a fabulous, large resort style campsite with a tropical feel, set beneath a towering medieval castle set on a cliff top. Of the 280 steeply terraced pitches, 150 are available for touring, all with electricity (1.5-3A). The large pool complex has slides, jacuzzi and a great new (2012) children’s pool feature. There is also a terraced poolside bar and entertainment area here. The range of sporting facilities is diverse and children can enjoy the kids’ club with its young explorers course. There is a superb restaurant specialising in fish dishes with a terrace leading into the botanical gardens.

The sites facilities are mostly near reception in the lower area including a pizzeria and a lively bar. The lush, carefully tended site’s vegetation provides a shaded canopy and relaxed private atmosphere. Throughout the site there are some beautiful views over the bay to Porteferraio. Part of the Camping di Charme group, this delightful campsite is only 15 minutes from the ferry at Portoferraio and Napoleon’s Villa at San Maritino.

Eight modern, attractive and clean toilet blocks are spread over the site, but the steep terrain may be difficult for those with mobility problems. Laundry with washing machines and ironing facilities. Supermarket, restaurant, pizzeria, pool bar and café/bar (21/4-30/9). Large pool complex with swimming courses and aquarobics (15/5-30/9). Tennis with coaching. Volleyball. Archery. Five-a-side football. Basketball. Trampolines. Bicycle track. Bicycle and motorcycle rental. Secure car park. Botanical gardens. WiFi (charged).

Directions to Camping Rosselba le Palme

From ferry at Portoferraio follow signs for Porto Azzurro to begin. Then turn left towards Bagnaia and follow campsite signs, on the right, just after a fork to the left.
