Family-run Camping Roland is a quiet site in an attractive region between the River Maas and the German border. The surroundings are made up of dunes, woods, moorland and lakes. Pitches here are divided into two groups, each with its own charm. All 90 spacious, grassy pitches have 6A electricity, water, drainage and cable TV connections. Swimming, sailing, fishing, mountain biking and hiking are amongst the activities on offer here. The swimming pool features a 40 m. water slide and a large sun terrace. This region has many signed cycle routes both around the site and on the far side of the Maas, which can be reached by ferry.

The formal castle gardens in nearby Arcen are highly recommended. The castle dates back to 1674 and is also home to an excellent collection of tropical plants. The MaasHopper boat is a popular day out, combining a river cruise with cycling, and can be arranged at the site reception. Just across the German border lies the pretty town of Xanten, with an abundance of Roman traces still evident. Close at hand, there are two good 18-hole golf courses.

Directions to Camping Roland

From A73 Nijmegen-Venlo motorway, take exit 2 (Rijkevoort) and follow A77. Then, join N271 towards Bergen. After a further 5 km. (at Afferden) site is signed to left. Continue for 1.5 km. and site is on left just past windmill.
