Port Leucate is part of the major Languedoc development which took place during the sixties and seventies and it is now a thriving resort. The campsite is situated on the old coast road into Port Leucate between the Etang de Salas and the beach, 800 m. from the centre of the town and port and only 150 m. from the beach. A mixture of tall poplars and pine trees provide reasonable shade for the 305 pitches, on good sized sandy plots, all with 6A electricity connections. About 90 are used for mobile homes. With no tour operators this should be a good value site, now under new management.

A pleasant pool area with a jacuzzi is open when the site is open with other facilities only in high season (July/August) when family entertainment is arranged. This is a good base from which to enjoy this unusual stretch of coast with its various étangs which are very popular for watersports, particularly windsurfing.

Four toilet blocks opened as required. Two have mainly squat toilets. Accessible facilities. Laundry room. Small supermarket, bar and takeaway (July/Aug). Swimming pools. Play area. Daytime games and tournaments and in the evening, live music, karaoke and dancing. WiFi.

Directions to Camping Rives des Corbières

From the A9 take exit 40 and follow signs for Port Leucate on D627 (passing Leucate village) for 14 km. Exit the D627 which is like a bypass into Port Leucate village. Go right at roundabout into Avenue du Languedoc and site is on right after 800 m.
