La Genèse is a well equipped, naturist site close to the banks of the River Cèze on the northern edge of the Cévennes national park.

This is a large site with 453 well shaded pitches, 326 are for touring, most with 6A electricity. These are divided into ‘sauvage’, for those seeking peace and quiet, and ‘prairie’, closer to the main facilities. A wide variety of activities are on offer here, including art and craft workshops, bridge evenings and a cinema. Sports amenities include a large swimming pool with a daily aquagym session in high season, separate children’s pool, tennis, archery and river bathing.

Canoeing is excellent here and canoe hire is available. This is also wonderful walking country and accompanied walks are arranged in peak season. There is a daily children’s club for four to 12 year olds. Activities are also organised for teenagers, including regular discos in peak season. There is much to see in the area, including the Ardèche gorges and Roman city of Orange, as well as the Cévennes National park. Access is good for large outfits though the number of suitable pitches is limited. A good value site for lovers of nature.

From Alès take D16 through Salindres to Rochegude. Shortly beyond Rochegude, take D167 to Méjannes-le-Clap and follow signs to site (6 km).
