A sister site to la Sirène just opposite, this site has some 32 touring pitches and around 130 mobile home and chalet pitches, and is aimed at families with young children and adults looking for a quieter site. Some of the mobile homes and chalets are privately owned along with some 40 odd site-owned ones to rent, all modern, well maintained with hedging and have space around them to provide privacy and various trees providing shade. The pool on site is dedicated to smaller children and is a great place for them to gain confidence in the water whilst still being able to play. Entertainment, shops, bars and the full range of activities are offered by la Sirène, just across the road.

Visitors here also have free access to the Eméraude beach club, which offers free transport to Plage Nord where the club is situated, complete with bar and snacks.

Facilities at Camping l’Hippocampe

Large central toilet block is fully equipped with controllable showers, and has facilities for babies. Washing machine. Swimming pool complex with small slides and jacuzzi (lifeguard). Shop. Small bar (all season). Good play area. Multisports court. Gas and electric barbecues only. All other facilities are at la Sirène. Riding. Bicycle hire. Free WiFi. Transport to beach in main season.

Leave A9 at 42 on D114, Argelès road. Leave D114 exit 10, following signs for Plage Nord. Site signed after the first roundabout, and is on the left 2 km. after last roundabout.
