Camping les Tourelles can be found on the southern fringe of the immense Ecrins National Park. The site has 200 pitches including 160 for tourers (all with electricity 10A), and three mobile homes for hire. Many of the pitches are sloping and have shade from mature trees. On-site amenities include an outdoor pool and communal barbecue area. The village of Embrun is a short, 800 m. walk and has a good range of shops. Les Tourelles is a good base for walking and mountain biking and the site’s owners will be pleased to recommend possible routes.
The Lac de Serre Ponçon is popular for watersports and the site is well located for exploring this wonderful mountain landscape. The nearby Boscodon forest has been officially acknowledged as the least polluted place in France. Montagne aux Marmottes animal park is close at hand, as is the Cathedral of Notre Dame du Réal at Embrun.
