Camping les Rives de Douet

Ideally situated between Angers and Saumur, les Rives de Douet is a municipal site close to the centre of the town, on the banks of the River Douet; if you like fishing, this is the site for you. The 98 pitches with 10A electricity are on level ground, with lots of mature trees offering shade. A range of activities are on offer in July and August (wine tasting, karaoke, themed meals etc), and discounts on local attractions. The city of Doué-la-Fontaine is famous for its rose festival and its troglodyte dwellings and has a farmers’ market every Monday morning. The site is close to a water treatment facility.

The many châteaux of the Loire valley including Chinon, Villandry, Usse and the fairytale Azay-le-Rideau are all close by. Chalets and mobile homes to rent.

Facilities

Two traditional sanitary blocks were clean when we visited, with seatless WCs, washbasins and preset showers in cabins. Accessible Facilities . Washing machine and dryer. Motorhome services. Small shop selling basics (bread can be ordered). Boules. Bicycle hire. Fishing. Adjacent indoor leisure pool, tennis courts, horse riding and football field. WiFi at office.

Location

Join the ring road around Doué-la-Fontaine and exit at the D83 towards the town centre. The site is then on your left after 1 mile. Follow the canal side road. It is well signed.
