Alan Rogers Review
This popular site is ideally located for visiting the Burgundy vineyards, for use as a transit site or for spending time in the town of Beaune. During the high season, it is busy most evenings, so it is best to arrive by 4 pm. The 88 level pitches are marked and numbered, with 6A electric hook-ups and room for an awning. A former municipal site, now privately owned, it is quiet and peacefully situated alongside a small river. A 1 km. walk along the riverbank brings you to the village, which has a château and a weekly market.
Whilst the famed wine region alone attracts many visitors, Beaune, its capital, is unrivalled in its richness of art from times gone by. Narrow streets and squares are garlanded with flowers in high season and the pavement cafés are crammed with tourists. At the centre stands the stunning 15th-century Hôtel Dieu, which should not be missed.
Facilities
Somewhat dated sanitary facilities are housed in a building behind reception. Accessible facilities, Additional WCs and water points are conveniently placed towards the middle of the site. Motorhome services. Ice available to purchase. Torch useful. Fishing. Bicycle hire. WiFi.
Location
From A6 autoroute take exit 24 signed Beaune and Savigny-les-Beaune onto D2. Turn right towards Savigny-les-Beaune (3 km) and follow signs to site.
