Close to the beaches of Charente Maritime between Saint Palais-sur-Mer and La Palmyre, les Côtes de Saintonge is a well established, family-friendly campsite. It has 134 level, grassy pitches with plenty of shade from mature oak trees. Many of them are occupied by a variety of mobile homes and luxury tents for hire, but there are some 40 touring pitches grouped together close to the heated swimming pool and snack bar. In high season, entertainment and activities are organised, including sports competitions by day and evening meals and dances.

The beach of La Grande Côte is just four kilometres away across Royan Golf Course, and the attractions of Saint Palais and La Palmyre, including its famous zoo, are within easy reach. It is possible to cycle along the promenade to Royan and perhaps try oysters or Pineau. Interesting days out include historic Saintes, sophisticated La Rochelle, the Ile de Ré and Ile d’Oléron, and the vineyards of Cognac.

St Augustin is 76 km. south of La Rochelle. From A10 motorway, leave at exit 35 from north or exit 35 from south and follow signs for Royan, then La Palmyre and St Augustin.
