Les Madières is well placed for exploring the Goëlo coast with its seaside resorts of Saint Quay-Portrieux, Binic and Etables-sur-Mer, ports used in the past by fishing schooners and now havens for pleasure boats though a few coastal fishing boats remain. The young and enthusiastic owners are always on hand to ensure the smooth running of this quiet, friendly campsite. The 95 pitches (11 with mobile homes to rent) are mainly set among trees and separated by hedges. An open area without electrical connections is available for campers. Only 800 m. away is the Vau Madec beach, ideal for swimming, fishing and collecting shellfish.

This is linked to the beach at Binic by the GR34 coastal path (3 km) where there are sandy beaches and holiday activities such as sailing, minigolf and tennis. The path continues along this attractive coastline and walkers can happily keep going, knowing they can then hop on the Tibus, a little blue and green bus that provides a regular service along the coast road.

Two traditional heated toilet blocks include washbasins in cubicles and pushbutton showers. Accessible facilities. Laundry facilities. Simple shop (all season). Bar, restaurant and takeaway (all season). Swimming pool (1/6-15/9). Games room. New play area. Some entertainment (high season). WiFi throughout.

Directions to Camping les Madières

Pordic is 10 km. northwest of St Brieuc and 80 km. west of St Malo. From St Brieuc ring-road (N12), turn north on D786 signed Paimpol. In 3 km. pass through Pordic centre, turn right just before church and then left at roundabout and follow site signs.
