This pleasant site is situated on a gentle hillside overlooking a lake at the edge of the village of Estang, famous for its unique wooden arènes where the traditional ‘courses landaises’ (an ancient form of bullfighting) take place several times a year. There are 104 pitches neatly arranged on terraces. The 50 level touring pitches, a small number of hardstandings, each has an adjacent 6/10A electricity supply (French sockets); the remaining pitches are used for mobile homes and chalets of which 29 are for hire. The touring pitches are mainly grassed and are well separated by hedges and mature trees which provide shade. Some are situated alongside a private lake that is used for fishing and canoeing.

The site is popular with campers undergoing health programmes at the spa resort of Barbotan-les-Thermes and rental accommodation is available at the site for the ‘curistes’. The swimming pool complex with its two pools and Jacuzzi are a focal point of the site. There is a full programme of organised sports competitions and entertainment for children and adults in July and August, including dancing, karaoke, fancy dress and social evenings with local speciality meals. There is also a mini-market each week in July and August when local producers of wine, foie gras etc. bring their products to site for tasting and sale. This is followed by a communal Gascon lunch.

Main sanitary block with showers, WCs, washbasins and baby facilities. Accessible facilities are in a smaller central block and by the site entrance. Laundry room. Motorhome services. Bar and snack bar (daily July/Aug, then w/ends) with covered entertainment area. Two outdoor pools and paddling pool. Jacuzzi. Play area. Private lake for fishing and canoeing. WiFi throughout (charged).

Directions to Camping les Lacs de Courtès

From Condom take D931 to Eauze then N524 west to Cazaubon. After 4 km. take D30 to Estang. Site is on left as you enter the village of Estang.
