A delightful and well maintained, rural site, les Charmilles is run by a very friendly Dutch family. It is situated in the Auzon Valley of the Ardèche, high up on the hills overlooking Aubenas and far beyond. The air here is cooler and fresher than in the valley below. There are 114 grass pitches of varying size laid out on low terraces, many with panoramic views. There are 74 for touring units with a variety of trees giving some shade. Electricity (5/10A) is available (long leads may be necessary). Many family activities are arranged in July and August with some also during low season.

A spacious bar and its terrace overlook the pool, with wonderful views over the valley and mountains beyond; just the place to relax and watch the colourful sunsets and the twinkling lights in Aubenas far below. This is a good family base for those who enjoy the outdoor life; walking, cycling, water sports and nature. Some of the most beautiful villages in France are close by and well worth a visit and the local narrow lanes are just waiting to be explored.

Excellent toilet block, very clean with all necessary facilities including those for young children . Accessible facilities,  Dishwashing by EasyBe, Shop (May-Sept). Bar with TV and restaurant (overlooking pool) with takeaway (May-Sept). Swimming pool and large, separated paddling pool, sunbathing terrace. Good play area and sports area. Many family activities, including miniclub, walks, excursions (high season) with some in the low season. Boules. WiFi (charged). Charcoal barbecues are not permitted.

Directions to Camping les Charmilles

Site is east of Aubenas in the Ardèche. Leave Aubenas on the N102 signed Montélimar. At Lavilledieu turn onto D224 signed Darbres. After 10 km. in Darbres fork right on D258 signed Mirabel. Site is on left in 2 km.
