Les Bombes is a beautifully situated and well maintained site within easy walking distance of Lac Chambon and the nearby amenities. On-site there is a heated swimming pool and sunbathing area, a snack bar and 24 chalets to rent (single night bookings accepted in low season). The site extends over five hectares and has 127 touring pitches. These are large (minimum 100 sq.m), flat, grassy and with 16A electricity (Europlug). The site is well located for walking and mountain biking, with a number of tracks leading directly from the site. The site owners will be delighted to recommend possible routes.

A large grass area, well away from the pitches, is reserved for sports. Plenty of other recreational resources are also available to keep youngsters occupied. Lac Chambon is close and is popular for fishing and pedalos; it also has a sandy beach with a lifeguard in July/August. A bakery can be found in Chambon-sur-Lac (400 m). Murol is nearby for more comprehensive shopping and is well worth visiting, especially for its fine château, parts of which date back to the 12th century. There is an impressive son-et-lumière show here and occasional displays of medieval martial arts.

Directions to Camping les Bombes

Site is west of Lac Chambon. From Murol, head west on D996 skirting the lake to Chambon-sur-Lac and follow signs to the site.
