Family run Camping Le Voconce is only 3 km. from the interesting Roman town of Vaison-la-Romaine. It is surrounded by vineyards and open countryside, and it has panoramic views over Mont Ventoux, beloved by cyclists. There are 96 pitches for touring and 20 for static units in separate sections of the campsite. The touring pitches are of varying sizes, on flat stony-grassy ground and all have 10A electricity. They are separated by a variety of hedges and trees giving varying amounts of shade. On-site amenities include a swimming pool. There is some organised entertainment once a week for all the family. No twin-axle caravans.

The site is well located for exploring Northern Provence. With some wonderful cycling and walking country close at hand, visitors will welcome the challenge of Mont Ventoux. Vaison-la-Romaine is home to some of the finest Roman remains in France. It was also the capital of the Voconces, a Celtic tribe who lived in the Ouveze valley before Roman colonisation. A little further afield, Orange and the great city of Avignon with its unique Papal palace and world famous Pont Saint Benezet, are certainly worth visiting.

One traditional toilet block, reasonably well maintained, has been refurbished and has preset showers, open washbasins and an en-suite accessible unit. Washing machine. Small shop sells bread, newspaper and wine. Bar. Snack bar/takeaway (1/6-mid Sept). Swimming and paddling pools (mid May-mid Sept). Small play area. Giant chess. Fishing.

Directions to Camping le Voconce

From Vaison-la-Romaine take D938 south for 1.5 km. Turn left, D151 (site signed), at roundabout keep right (D205) for 1 km. Turn right down lane to site. Well signed.
