Alan Rogers Review
This immaculate site opened in 2006 and is run by friendly, English-speaking owners. Conveniently located a little to the north of Valence, it is only 6 km. from the autoroute. The site lies amidst a large fruit farm growing peaches, apricots and olives with views over the Ardèche mountains. It is possible to pick fruit and there is a twice weekly market featuring the farm’s produce. There are 138 large, level, grassy pitches with 104 for touring (electricity 10A). They are separated by attractive shrubs and trees giving reasonable shade. All the facilities here are of a high standard. Twin-axle caravans are not accepted.
The Drôme offers a variety of opportunities for walking and cycling and Le Soleil Fruité is well placed in this respect. Close to the site is the Palais du Congress, which houses conference facilities and, apparently, the largest cabaret in southern France. Other, more traditional excursions include the plentiful wine cellars of the Côtes du Rhone, including those of Paul Jaboulet in the nearby village of Chateauneuf.
Excellent, clean toilet block with facilities for babies and disabled visitors. Bar, TV/snack bar, small shop (all season). Swimming pool complex with outdoor pool, covered pool, water slide and 2 paddling pools. Play area. Bicycle hire. WiFi (free). Motorhome services. Trampolines. Twice weekly market in high season. Entertainment for under 10s and excursion programme (July/Aug).
Leave A7 autoroute exit 14 (Valence Nord) take N7 north for 2 km. Turn right, D877, site signed. After 2 km. turn left, then left at roundabout then left again to site.Link to campsite location map on google
