Alan Rogers Review of Camping le Rocher de la Granelle
Le Rocher de la Granelle is a friendly site, attractively located on the banks of the River Vézère, and close to the lively market town of Le Bugue. There are 150 good sized, level grass pitches, around 100 of which are for touring, all with 10A electricity. Most are well shaded and some have pleasant views across the Vézère. On-site amenities include a swimming pool, water slide and a bar/snack bar which is the base for activities and entertainment during the peak season. Many of the facilities here are being upgraded. The river is good for fishing and canoeing but bathing is not recommended.
The Tuesday market at Le Bugue is highly recommended, and the little town also hosts an excellent aquarium, as well as a very good range of shops and a few restaurants. It is centrally located for exploring the Dordogne region. Sarlat can be reached within an hour, and Bergerac is also within easy reach. The best way to explore the surrounding countryside is on foot or by cycle, and the site’s owners will be very pleased to recommend possible routes.

Two toilet blocks are being refurbished and provide all the necessary accessible facilities. Shop. Snack bar/bar (May-mid Sept). Swimming pool, children’s pool, water slide (May-mid Sept). Sports field. Play area. Activity and entertainment programme. Direct river access. Fishing. Tennis. Pétanque. Bicycle hire. Motorhome service point. WiFi.
Directions to Camping le Rocher de la Granelle
From Bergerac, head east on D660, D703 then D29 to le Buisson-de-Cadouin. Take D51 then D31e north towards Le Bugue. Follow signs to site on left, just south of Le Bugue.
