In the heart of Poitou-Charentes, Le Réjallant is a family-friendly campsite in a rural setting beside the River Charente. Of its 84 grassy pitches, some are shaded, others in the open; they include a number of very large pitches, and 10A electricity connections are available throughout. The recently installed pool is very popular and has a paddling pool alongside. The owners have now added a fully-equipped gym. Snacks are available in the bar between April and September and a large, covered, outdoor eating area doubles up as a TV room when major sporting events are televised. This lively site offers something for everyone, whether it be an active holiday or a quiet stroll by the beautiful River Charente.
The Old Town in Ruffec has narrow streets and interesting architecture, including the Romanesque church of Saint André with its remarkable carved façade depicting the Ascension. Possible outings could include the town of Cognac, its cellars and surrounding vineyards, La Rochefoucauld with its Renaissance château, and Confolens which holds an International Festival of Arts and Traditions in August and where there is a Vélorail. One of France’s most visited attractions, La Vallée des Singes, is a short drive away (20 km). Further afield are the historic university city of Poitiers and nearby Futuroscope, and Limoges, famous for its porcelain.
