Camping le Moulin de Piot can be found on the banks of the Petite Creuse river. It is a popular site with anglers and kayaking enthusiasts. The 75 grass touring pitches are large and most are equipped with 10A electricity (long lead may be required). A number of mobile homes and gites are available to rent. The site is close to the village of Chéniers, and a good range of services are on offer there, including a small supermarket, baker and restaurant. On site, there is a small restaurant/snack bar, which also supplies take-away meals, ice creams and regional specialities. Detailed maps of local walks are available, some are directly from the site.

An art and craft workshop is held on site during the high season and a variety of activities are on offer here, including sculpture, pottery and painting. The Creuse is one of France’s lesser known regions, and is often considered to be the green heart of France. Popular excursions include the wildlife park, Les Loups de Chabrieres, which is dedicated to the wolf, and the Chateau de la Louvière, near Montlucon.

Location

The site can be found to the north of Guéret. From there, head north on D940 and D6 as far as Bonnat. From there, take the westbound D15 to Le Temple, and then head north to Cheniers, from where the site is well signed.
