Moulin du Châtain is situated in the Périgord Vert five kilometres from Payzac. It has two fishing ponds spread over five hectares and is a peaceful wildlife haven. Traditional villages, vineyards, walks and bike rides are all easy to access. The site's setting on the Belles Dames stream has one fishing pond which is reserved solely for guests. Peaceful picnic areas are dotted around the park, alongside excellent leisure facilities. The site borders the Corrèze region, in a rural setting of caves, old villages and forges such as the nearby the Forges Savignac Lédrier in the Auvézère valley. You could try hiking around the Auvezère gorges about half an hour away, visiting the village and cave of Tourtoirac, and exploring the châteaux of Jumilhac and Hautefort, both within 40 minutes. A leisure centre and indoor and outdoor activities of all sorts are at Rouffiac, 15 minutes' drive away. The site has 26 touring pitches. There are also 4 chalets available to rent.

A single toilet block provides showers, washbasins and wc’s. Accessible facilities. Chemical toilet point. Dish washing area. The shop has produce from local merchants and of course fish. BBQ’s allowed except electric. Bar 17/04 and 30/09. Picnic areas. Outdoor swimming pool and a paddling pool 01/07 and 30/08. Volleyball. Table tennis. Library with board games. TV room. Snack bar. Children’s playground with slides, sandpit and a trampoline. Twin axle vehicles are not permitted on site. Dogs allowed.

From Payzac take the D75 to the junction with D80. Turn right onto D80 the site is then on the left off this road.
