Le Monlôo is set in a wide valley in the Pyrenees. The immediate surroundings of farmland, with crops growing and cows at pasture, give way to some magnificent views of the mountains towering away from the front of the site, whilst the back is right at the foot of some smaller foothills. It is a relatively small site of 120 touring pitches and 70 mobile homes and chalets, some for rent. There is shade on many pitches with some tall dividing hedges. Electricity (10A) is available. There is a distinct air of friendliness about the site.

There is an attractive lagoon swimming pool with a sandy beach, complete with deck chairs, beach umbrellas and volleyball net. The new indoor pool will be ready in June 2015. The friendly family take their job seriously and will even show you a selection of available pitches from the comfort of their electric car. This area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists and just travelling a short distance opens up new horizons with some large waterfalls not far away. Numerous day trips are possible, such as Lourdes (20 km) and the stunning Col d’Aspen (25 km).

Ample toilet facilities are provided in four blocks (one heated). Facilities for disabled visitors. Washing machines and dryer. Motorhome services. Bread to order. Snacks, bar and takeaway (July/Aug). Indoor heated pool with slide. Outdoor lagoon pool with sandy beach (15/7-15/9). Tennis court. Bouncy castle. Simple play area. Gas or electric barbecues are permitted. WiFi over site (charged).

Location

From the A64 take exit 14 signed Bagnères-de-Bigorre. Enter town and take D8 road to the right for Ordizan. Site is just a few hundred metres along this road, well signed.
