Carefully developed over the years from a former quarry, le Châtelet is pleasantly and quietly situated with lovely views over the estuary from many pitches. It is well laid out, mainly in terraces with fairly narrow access roads. There are 200 good sized pitches separated by hedges, all with electricity (8A). A safari, cocoon and teepee tent village is positioned around a little lake (unfenced) which can be used for fishing. Used by one tour operator (23 pitches). A green walking area is a nice feature around the lower edge of the site and a path leads directly down to a beach (about 200 m. but including steps). There are many ways to relax on site, you can exercise yoga in the specially dedicated room. There is a gamehall with 16 slot machines and a giant chessboard in the outdoor fitness area.

Saint Cast, 1 km. away to the centre, has a very long beach with many opportunities for sail-boarding and other watersports. The nearby towns of Dinan, Dinard and the old walled town of Saint Malo are all within a comfortable distance for a day’s excursion. The campsite has added a range of tents and luxury chalets for hire.

Facilities at Camping le Châtelet

Four toilet blocks with access at different levels include washbasins in cabins and facilities for children. Accessible facilities, Three small toilet blocks on the lower terraces. Some facilities are closed outside July/Aug. Motorhome services. Heated swimming and paddling pools (all season). Shop for basics and bar (5/5-4/9), takeaway (13/6-31/8), lounge and general room with satellite TV and pool table. Yoga and Tai chi in high season. Games room. Play area. Organised games and activities in season. Dancing (June-Aug). WiFi throughout (charged).

Directions to Camping le Châtelet

Best approach is to turn off D786 road at Matignon towards St Cast (ignore sat nav); just inside St Cast limits turn left at sign for Campings and follow site signs on C90.
