Guests are warmly welcomed at this small, very clean and attractive site. It is situated in the beautiful northern Ardèche region with its many old villages, markets and museums – well worth exploring. The site’s 87 large, level and easily accessible pitches (84 for touring) are in groups separated by tall hedges, all with electricity (10A). An attractive modern building houses the reception and a small bar with a terrace. Snacks and bread are available to order. In high season a few games are organised for younger children but the emphasis here is on a quiet and peaceful site.

Within 10 minutes of the Loriol exit of the A7 autoroute, this is an ideal base for those seeking a short stay, but you may well be tempted to stay longer. There are graded walks starting from the campsite with clear maps to follow. There is also advice on circular tours that can be made by car and a file of recommended visits to local tourist attractions. The campsite’s location opens opportunities to visit châteaux, sites with Roman ruins, and for the more adventurous opportunities for canoeing and canyoning on the Drome, mountain biking, aerial ropeways and horse riding.

Small shop, bar, good heated swimming pool, paddling pool and small slide (all 14/4-30/9). Takeaway (1/5-30/9). Jacuzzi. Spacious play area. Area for ball games. Information and maps for walking and driving. WiFi (free). Only gas or electric barbecues.

Directions to Camping l’Albanou

From A7 autoroute take exit 16 for Loriol, head west across the Rhône to Le Pouzin. At roundabout take N104, signed Aubenas, follow road up hill. Turn left in 4 km. just before St Julien. Site is signed.
