This attractive, family-oriented site forms part of a landscaped recreation park surrounding a tree-lined lake. The 117 generous pitches, with a modern sanitary block in the centre, are level, grassed and enclosed by hedges. All have electricity (10A) and drainage. An area has been set aside for three teepees and a further area for chalets. The whole site has been well thought out. A small dam divides the lake into two areas, one for swimming with a beach, the other more prominent section for fishing, kayaks and pedaloes. Children will love the adventure playground in front of the beach area. There is some train noise from the nearby TVR, but only during daytime and only a moderate rumble.

Situated in a region famous for its wines, gastronomy and picturesque villages, there is much to explore locally. The town of Mâcon is only 5 km. Some 220 km of cycle paths, on and off road, are all marked and newly signed. Maps are available at reception. During the summer, there are monthly events organised around and on the lake, supported by 12 local communes. There is something here for everyone. They would certainly stay longer if one chose this site purely as an overnight stop because of its proximity to the A6.

A recently built sanitary building provides clean, well maintained facilities with showers and washbasins in cabins. Accessible sanitary facilities. Laundry room with washing machine. Motorhome services. Small shop (order bread for following morning). A mobile shop selling fresh produce calls each morning. Bar and restaurant with takeaway, overlooking lake. Lake swimming with a separate area for small children. Entertainment for children, Creative crafts, Adventure playground. Lifeguards and first aid during high season. Bicycle hire. WiFi (free).

Directions to Camping Lac de Cormoranche

Site is 5 km. south-southwest of Mâcon on the eastern side of the Saône. It is signed Base de Loisirs Cormoranche. From A6 J28 or A40 J1 follow N6 to Mâcon centre. At roundabout by Pont Urban Sud take third exit signed Bourge-en-Bresse over bridge. Then follow D51 signed Cormoranche. On entering village go right on D51B and follow signs for site.
