Camping La Garenne is a medium sized family site owned by a Dutch family. It has 123 pitches most with electric hook-up point 6amp, partially laid out in terraces and is situated in the Ardèche Region, between Valence and Montélimar. It occupies a particularly sheltered spot at the entrance of the beautiful Eyrieux Valley.The site is only a short stroll from the village centre of Saint Laurent du Pape and is within easy reach of the A7/RN7 and RN86 (15 minutes from the A7). The surrounding hills offer ample opportunity for lovely walks, cycling tours for racing bicycles, or car rides. For cyclists there are the Dolce Via and the Via Rhôna, two beautiful flat cycling trails, the one along the Eyrieux river, the other along the river Rhône. In May, June and September, if you feel like it, you can participate in boules competitions, guided walks, excursions, wine tasting, etc.

Most of the pitches are located on level ground, which is hard and rocky, so the use of metal awning pegs is advised. These are available at reception. The upper terrace has quiet pitches close to a path that leads into the forest or village. Trees, bushes or low walls built from river clay, in typical Ardèche style, create a sense of privacy between the pitches. There are a few serviced pitches, most of which are located on the upper terrace. The pitches are interspersed with mobile homes, lodge tents and safari tents.

Directions to Camping la Garenne

From the A7 motorway take exit 16 Loriol. Now join D104 towards Le Pouzin and Privas. After crossing the river Rhône turn right onto D86 to La Voulte s/Rhône. At a roundabout in La Voulte bear left onto the D86E. After the college turn left onto D120 to St. Laurent. The site is signed from the town.
