Ideally situated between Argelès-Gazost and Lourdes in the Hautes-Pyrénées, Camping la Chataigneraie  boasts a privileged mountain setting perfect for enjoying all kinds of outdoor activities. The site has 85 pitches, of which 60 are for touring units and have a 2/10-amp hook-up point, 7 seasonal pitches, and there are 18 mobile homes or studios available for hire. Pitches are located in grassy areas and are not delimited, so you have a choice of where you would like to stay. There are plenty of trees dotted over the site for much-needed shade during the summer. 

Unwind and have a blast at the large aquatic area. Take a refreshing dip in the heated pool, let the little ones splash around in the paddling pool (depth: 0.45m), or enjoy going down the water slide—there's something for everyone! Soak up the breathtaking mountain views while relaxing on a sun lounger by the pool. Keep the kids entertained at the expansive playground featuring a variety of equipment on a safe, shock-absorbing surface. The playground includes slides, climbing structures, a bird's nest swing, and two trampolines. Challenge your friends and family to a game of boules (petanque) or table tennis, or gather around the meeting area with a TV and enjoy some friendly competition with a game of table football. All pitches come with free Wi-Fi access, ensuring you can stay connected throughout your stay. The campsite also provides a heated toilet block for added comfort during the winter months.

Millions of pilgrims visit Lourdes every year to see the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes, where the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to a young girl named Bernadette Soubirous in 1858. The Sanctuary includes several basilicas, grottos, and religious buildings, as well as wellsprings where pilgrims can bathe in the healing waters. The Pyrenees mountain range is a great place for hiking and other outdoor activities. Some popular hiking trails in the area include the Cirque de Gavarnie, Pic du Midi de Bigorre, and Pont d'Espagne.

Directions to Camping la Chataigneraie

From the A64 junction 12 join the N21 to Lourdes. In Lourdes, take the D821then the D921b to Agos-Vidalos.  The site is signed in the village centre of Agos-Vidalos.
