Campsite Les Cariamas is located on the edge of Ecrins National Park near the mountains of Hautes-Alpes. If you love a holiday in the french alps, this campsite is ideal as it is so close to mountain bike trails and walks.

Although there is some traffic noise on-site, this campsite is still reasonably quiet with its location. You can find 150 touring pitches to choose from, arranged under shade and can be secluded depending on your preference. There is a sanitary block on each campsite field, so there will never be a queue for showers in the bathroom. Other facilities on the campsite include a swimming pool (Small) but good for cooling down after a long day of activities. There is also a children's playground, a Table tennis table and Jeu de boules alley.

Nearby you will find the Lac de Serre-Ponçon reservoir, surrounded by high mountain ranges; here, you can enjoy a swim, and there are many water sports opportunities, such as kayaking. The water sports possibilities are endless, with an area of almost 30 km2.

On the Lac de Serre-Ponçon there are a few villages. One of them is Embrun. This old town is home to many places of interest, of which the cathedral is worth visiting. Furthermore, Embrun is a delightful place with many sidewalk cafés and restaurants.

Location

From Gap follow signs to Embrun Briançon. Take turning for Châteauroux-les-Alpes at first roundabout after Embrun. Shortly (800 m) before the village turn right and follow signs to site. Access to the site is via a 700 m. narrow lane with some passing places.
