This spacious city site was established in 1993 on the edge of the Trade Fair Centre of this ancient and historic city and is very clean and modern. The 120 pitches, with 6A electricity, are numbered and marked out in an orderly manner and shaded by trees. The level grass pitches are edged with “grasscrete” on the roadside, to aid car parking. There are two main areas plus a separate section for very long units. You should always find space here as there appears to be over capacity.

There is an unassuming restaurant and bar and the swimming pool is very welcome after a day of exploring the city. The site is ideal for an overnight stop, due to its proximity to the motorway, or as a base for exploring the most attractive and lively city of Bologna. A regular bus service operates from reception into the City Centre. Visit the Piazza Maggiore with its arched colonnades, the Fountain of Neptune and the Basilica di San Petronio and medieval towers.

Reception can be busy, as it also caters for chalet customers. Some English is spoken. There is a little daytime aircraft and motorway noise, but the site is surrounded by fields and trees giving a peaceful atmosphere. Site roadways are narrow so manoeuvring can be an issue.

The intention was not only to make a campsite but to provide high-quality motel-type rooms for use by those visiting trade fairs. There are now 92 chalets for rent. Bologna has a beauty of its own and we believe a visit is a must. There are 40 km. of porticos so you can even sightsee in the rain! In every corner, there is something of historic interest. Talk to the manager, Doctor Osti – he is an enthusiast.

The site is well signed from the Bologna Fiera exit on the autostrada on the northeast of the city. Look for brown signs.
