A warm welcome from the English-speaking Maire family is guaranteed at this small, attractive, 70 pitch site. Most of the 60 large (up to 200 sq.m) touring pitches are separated by bushes, many are shaded and all have 10A electricity. There are plans to increase the number of touring pitches by using an adjacent field. A good site for couples and families with young children. Due to the wonderful climate, grass can at times be hard to find. The reception, bar, restaurant and shop are in the same large, airy building. The owners are always willing to give advice on the numerous things to see and do in the area.

The owners have made the site ‘green’ with ecologically aware measures (for example, solar heating). Reception has a wealth of tourist information. They say the wine festivals in early August at Châteauneuf du Pape and at Uzès in mid August are festivals not to be missed.

Facilities at Camping du Mas de Rey

Two excellent, well maintained and very clean toilet blocks, both quite new, with solar heating, Accessible facilities, baby room and en-suite family cubicles. Laundry facilities. Shop (July/Aug), bread to order (all season). Takeaway (1/5-30/9) and terrace restaurant with French meals (July/Aug). New heated swimming pool and paddling pool (1/5-15/10, closed lunchtimes). New Safari lodges for rent. Free WiFi over site. Charcoal barbecues are not permitted.

Leave A9 autoroute, exit 23, signed Pont du Gard. Take N100 to Remoulins. Follow D981 to Uzès (18 km). Take D982 west, signed Arpaillargues, Moussac. Site signed on left, 3 km.
