A few miles to the east of Le Mans, this attractive and peaceful site, as the name would suggest, is situated on the banks of a lake. There are 130 grass pitches with a variety of settings, shade and size. All the pitches have 16A electricity and a water point nearby and many have attractive lake views. A group of 15 pitches designed for motorhomes has hardstanding strips. This is a neat and well maintained campsite. There is direct access to the lake where there is a beach and a watersports centre. A vintage railway line runs alongside the site in high season. The annual 24 hour car race attracts visitors from all over the world and takes place just a 20 minute drive away. The site also offers mobile homes and chalets to rent.

Three toilet blocks (one heated in low season) are well maintained and kept very clean. Washbasins and preset showers in cubicles. Baby bathroom. Accessible facilities. Laundry. Motorhome services. Small shop. Restaurant/snack bar adjacent. Swimming pool with sliding cover and children’s area (April-Sept; shorts forbidden). Play area. Boules. Volleyball. Bicycle hire. Games/TV room. WiFi in parts (charged).

Location

From A11 exit 6 travel south on A28. At next junction turn east on D323. In Connerré turn north on D33 and continue on this road to Tuffé (take care on narrow roads in Connerré and Beillé). Site is then easy to find – follow signs for Base de Loisirs.
