Le Grand Cerf is a small, rural, former municipal site situated in the Rhone valley between the Ardeche and the Isere. It was purchased by the present owners, Cécile and Laurent, who both speak good English and provide a warm welcome. Of the 60 terraced pitches, 39 are available for tourers, some with electricity (6/10A). Five are fully serviced. Most pitches are hedged and shaded by mature trees and a little uneven. Many are sloping, so levelling is necessary. There are six flat open pitches without electricity. At present, there is only one small, basic shower block. The bar/restaurant is welcoming, with a wood burning fire and comfortable seating in addition to the eating area.
There is much to explore in the region; a ten minute drive will take you to Hauterives, which has shops, restaurants and a weekly market. There are stunning views over the valley, and the village is only a few minutes walk. The pool and large sports areas provide plenty of on-site activity. The new owners plan to add another shower block and renovate the existing one, and to extend electricity to all pitches. Eight chalets and mobile homes are available to rent, with plans to add two more cottage/chalets.
