Camping Dorado is situated in the triangle formed by Groningen, Assen and Drachten, next to the forest of Mesinge. The main camping area consists of 13 spacious and bordered pitches (100-120 sq.m) and there is a larger field for seven pitches. There is also a hikers’ field with a further five pitches. All pitches have electricity. There are also hiker huts that sleep up to four people and semi-detached houses to rent for groups of 12. The site is family friendly and has a car-free policy. Other amenities include a playground, a playing field and a club for children in high season.

Across the road from the site is the Mesinge forest, one of the oldest forests in the Netherlands with 500 hectares of woodland and numerous marked cycling and walking trails. The village of Roden is only 1.5 km. away, offering local shops and restaurants, and within easy reach are the provincial capitals of Groningen, Assen and Drachten.

Directions to Camping Dorado

From Utretcht take A6 towards Almere/Buiten and then A7. Continue to exit 34 at Leek, signed Roden. Follow signs to Roden. Head north on Heerestraat towards Touwslager and take first right onto Kanaalstraat. At roundabout take first exit onto Raadhuisstraat (N373) to Norgerweg 19. Follow signs to site.
