Camping Des Grands Cols is in the shade of the high mountains of the Savoie. It is a good site for cyclists, hikers, and motorcyclists who want to conquer the infamous Alpine cols of the Tour de France. On this neat, small-scale site, there are spacious pitches between trees and hedges in a green, relaxing environment. There is only one toilet building at the back of the site grounds, but this is enough for the 77 touring pitches with a 16-amp hook-up point. The site also has 13 mobile homes available to hire. Each pitching area bears the names of the cols, and each contains about eight to ten pitches, mainly for caravans. For tents, there are separate, slightly smaller pitches. Sometimes, you will see a special hiker's cabin among the pitches.

Most site visitors are cycling enthusiasts eager to explore the mountain ranges by bicycle. There is an on-site snack bar located at reception, providing quick bites to eat and refreshing drinks. Further restaurants can be found in Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne, just a ten-minute walk away, which is also perfect for your daily shopping.

Directions to Camping Des Grands Cols

From the A43 at exit 27 and after the toll booth continue ahead to the junction with the D906 and turn right to join it. At a roundabout take the last exit Rue de la Bastille. Rue de la Bastille turns right and becomes Av. de la Gare D926. At a roundabout take the last exit to stay on the D926. Jus before the river turn right onto Quai de l'Arvan D77. At the junction with the D906 turn right and then a quick left onto Avenue du Mont Cenis and the site is on this road.
