Camping des Gorges de l'Allier is within proximity of the spectacular Allier gorges, their river and a lively town within simple sauntering distance. The site is under 10 minutes' walk from the Auvergne town of Langeac, with direct access to the river for canoeing and kayaking and with easy access to the Allier gorges via the tourist train between Langeac and Langogne. The site covers 14 green hectares, with colourful flowers all around and loads of room to wander. This friendly place welcomes all ages and has an excellent range of leisure options for all, including an outdoor swimming pool among the trees and with considerable sunbathing space and plentiful loungers alongside. The site has 214 touring pitches. There are also 31 mobile homes and chalets available to hire.

Langeac is one of the 13 large towns of the Auvergne region and is lively all year round with sporty and cultural activities, country fairs and a busy market on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The town is also the starting point for a firm must-do if you're anywhere around this part of the Haute-Loire: the tourist train through the Allier gorges. This splendidly scenic route runs for 67 kilometres from Langeac to Langogne in the Lozère, along steep gorges inaccessible to vehicles, and passing volcanoes, tunnels and 16 viaducts along the way.

Directions to Camping des Gorges de l'Allier

From exit 20 of the A75/E11 "La Méridienne" join the N102 in the direction of Brioude. Continue on this road to join the D56. N.B. The distance from the junction on the N102 at Brioude and the D56 junction on the N102 is 16 miles. Continue on the D56 and D585 to Langeac. At a roundabout just after the Abel Hotel, turn left onto Rue de Lille. The site is then on this road.
