This is an attractive and well presented site set on a hillside in the heart of the Périgord Blanc near Périgueux. The owners give a warm and friendly welcome and customer service is a high priority. There are 95 level, grassy pitches shaded by tall trees, 70 for touring units, all with electricity (10A). There is an attractive restaurant and bar with a retractable canopy over the terrace. Near the entrance are four hardstanding pitches for motorhomes; large caravans and American style motorhomes are only accepted on site by prior arrangement.

A separate area near the entrance, well away from the pitches, is set aside for games, sporting activities and the new swimming pool with toboggan. A programme of entertainment is organised in July and August for children and adults. There are many interesting places to visit in the area including castles and prehistoric caves. French markets in picturesque villages are also worth visiting.

Facilities at Camping de la Pélonie

Well equipped modern toilet block with accessible facilities. Washing machine. Shop, bar, restaurant and takeaway (mid June-Aug). Snack bar. New heated swimming pool with toboggan, slide and paddling pool (15/5-15/9). Boules. Football. Badminton. Archery. Games room. Play area. No electric barbecues. WiFi over site (charged).

From Périgueux take D6089 eastwards. 4 km. after St Pierre-de-Chignac, turn left, C1 (site signed) and follow signs to site in 300 m.
