This is a pretty campsite located in a stunning region too: peaceful and friendly Camping de la Gères is within easy reach of Charente Maritime attractions and highlights: it's a few minutes' strolls from the old town of Surgères, half an hour from the Atlantic coast, and 45 minutes from the spectacular sights of La Rochelle.

Named after the Gères river flowing alongside the campsite, Camping de la Gères is a family site shaded by trees and hedges, with plenty of grounds and woodland to explore. There's direct access from the site to the gardens of Surgères's castle for more exploring. You can also hire a bike on-site too.

There are plenty of leisure options on-site, including an aqua gym and aqua yoga sessions in the heated pool. Pétanque competitions, music quizzes, and a summer kids' club happen three times a week to entertain small children. (activities and entertainment in July and August only). You don't need to travel for regional produce with the on-site snack bar (open from mid-June to mid-September), which sells light bites, beer and cocktails to have at the pool terrace or take away.
