Port la Nouvelle is a traditional seaside resort with a large marina and a busy commercial port. Côte Vermeille can be found a few kilometres from the resort and is some 250 m. from a long, sandy beach. It is behind the scrubland of the littoral, so the sea is not directly visible from the site. There are 322 pitches, of which 45 are used for touring units. These are a moderate size on sandy grass with little shade and all with 6A electricity. A large pool complex is the main feature of the site with several large water slides. A railway line passes at the back of the site.

The site has been acquired by the FranceLoc group which is gradually updating it, including modern chalets with rush roofing in keeping with the setting and the distinctive play areas featured at all sites within the group. The bar/restaurant now has quite an individual atmosphere. There is plenty of activity here during the high season with children’s clubs and daily aquagym and aerobics sessions. Nearby the African safari park at Sigean is a must and the Spanish border is around an hour’s drive to the south. Port la Nouvelle is an interesting resort with a good selection of restaurants and shops.

Sport and entertainment programme with clubs for children (July/Aug). Windsurfing off the beach. Mobile homes to rent. Free WiFi around reception area.

Directions to Camping Côte Vermeille

Approaching from the north, leave the A9 at exit 39 and head east on the D6139 to Sigean and then Port la Nouvelle. Site is signed at new roundabout. After passing Aldi, cross over railway bridge, then continue round and back underneath the bridge and follow narrow road alongside railway line for 3 km. to site.
