Close to the sea and the centre of the little village of La Bernerie, Camping Chadotel Les Ecureuils is a pleasant and spacious family-run site. The site has 110 touring pitches, all with 10A electricity close by and 19 with their water tap and drain. There are also 89 mobile homes and chalets for rent and a further 50 privately owned. There are many options on-site to keep everyone active while staying here. You will find an outdoor swimming pool complex with slides, a children's pool and a jacuzzi. There are many sports opportunities too with a multisport pitch, table tennis and pétanque area.

An animation team keeps everyone busy during high season with games, kids clubs and evening entertainment. The site is located just 350m from a sandy beach. Swimming is restricted to high tide as the sea goes out a long way and can be pretty dangerous. During low tide, a lagoon remains, perfect for young children.

The village has several shops, bars and restaurants, and a sailing school. The fishing port of Pornic is a short drive away and is well worth a visit; it has a busy marina and a factory shop selling a wide range of Breton pottery and souvenirs. To the south is the Ile de Noirmoutier with good beaches and pretty villages. To the north, across the Saint-Nazaire bridge, is the sophisticated resort of La Baule, the historic town of Guérande with its medieval walled city, and its salt marshes producing the well known Sel de Guérande.

Directions to Camping Chadotel Les Ecureuils

La Bernerie-en-Retz is 26 km. south of the St Nazaire bridge via D213. From the D213/D13 some 6 km. from junction east of Pornic, turn west on D66 to La Bernerie. Site is signed to right by railway station before reaching town.
