This is a very large, bustling site with all the modern paraphernalia of holiday making. A large proportion of this site is reserved for tour operators, but there are three designated areas for independent campers. These provide 590 terraced, shaded and flat pitches, all with electricity (6/10A). There are three excellent swimming complexes and a wide range of amenities and attractions. Whilst large, the site is well organised and, unlike some in this area, offers an active holiday experience for all the family - teenagers included - throughout the season. A camping pass is issued to all site residents.

There is a busy bar/restaurant with terraces overlooking a smallish plunge pool with a pair of water slides (one long with attendant and a second small pool). The remainder of the site offers a very wide range of amenities and facilities, including another large pool with restaurant/bar and terrace areas higher on the site. A third pool, bar and live music area are at the top of the site with fantastic views. There are two mini-pools for toddlers around the site along with various play areas, disco, sports facilities and a live entertainment programme.

Toilet facilities are good and are being gradually upgraded, each area having its own block. Cleaning is continual (06.00-22.00) but with the numbers on site in high season, queuing and litter may be a problem. Accessible facilities, Supermarket and souvenirs. Bars and restaurants. Pizzeria. Crêperie. Takeaway. Swimming pools. Tennis. Minigolf. Playground. Large screen TV. Disco. Entertainment programme and excursions. Bicycle hire. Free bus to L’Estartit. Internet access and WiFi over part of site (both charged). Torches required in some areas.

Directions to Camping Castell Montgri

Leave AP7/E15 at exit 6 and take C66 towards Palamós. Take GI642 towards Parlava and GI643 towards Torroella de Montgri, then GI641 to L’Estartit Site is well signed just north of the town on the left.
