Alan Rogers Review of Camping Aurel Vlaicu

The town of Aurel Vlaicu is named after the famous Romanian aviator of the same name who was born here in 1882. A small museum near the campsite details his life and most towns in Romania have a street and a school named after him. This Dutch owned campsite is small but has good views across open farmland to the mountains beyond. The front entrance has restricted access but an alternative is available to deal with larger units. There are 30 level and marked pitches, all with 10A electricity.

The village is typically Romanian – one made up street, a stork’s nest, geese and ducks walking around in family groups and the locals sitting outside watching the world pass by.
