Alan Rogers Review of Camping Arenella
Situated at the back of the town of Deiva Marina, Camping Arenella is accessed from the A12 autostrada via a twisting 5 km. of road. This basic site is on a hillside amongst pines and there are some good views. There are around 70 pitches for permanent units with a further 50 pitches for touring units with 3A electricity connections available. Cars must be parked in a separate area. The rustic restaurant is accessed by a long flight of steep steps and offers a varied menu along with a choice of pizzas and spaghetti to take away. We see this as a transit site, rather than for long stays.
The most interesting tourist option is a visit to Cinque Terre, five villages which can only be reached by rail, boat or cliff footpath. Their history is one of fishing but they now also specialise in wines. There are very pleasant walks and treks in the Ligurian woods nearby.
Facilities at Camping Arenella
Two centrally situated, basic and dated sanitary blocks have predominantly squat style WCs. Free hot water in showers and washbasins. Laundry. Restaurant with keen prices plus small snack bar and shop (May-Sept). Satellite TV. Communal freezer. WiFi. Free bus service to the beach.
Directions to Camping Arenella
Leave A12 autostrada at Deiva Marina exit and follow signs to Deiva Marina. Site is well signed and can be found before the village to the right.
