This large campsite with some 138 touring pitches is one of many which are on the banks of the River Ardèche. As with its neighbours, it attracts visitors who are looking canoe down this famous river. Canoes and small craft may be launched from the site’s beach, which is also a play area for youngsters. The small to medium size pitches are on somewhat rough grass, with small trees marking their boundaries. Electricity (10A Europlug) is available to most, but very long leads may be required. Water standpipes are none too plentiful. The owners are gradually improving the facilities – there is a new sanitary block of modern design.

A bar, restaurant, shop and takeaway are only open for July and August. At other times the town of Vallon Pont d’Arc is only about 2 km. away, where the usual shops, bars, restaurants and cash machines are to be found. Perhaps the best feature of this site is the good swimming pool and children’s pool, which are open all season.

The rather dated toilet block provides the usual facilities, some suitable as accessible facilities. Fridge hire. Shop, bar, restaurant and takeaway (July/Aug. only). Many entertainment facilities (high season). Good swimming and paddling pools (all season). Only gas and electric barbecues permitted. Internet access. Fishing.

Directions to Ciela Village - Camping Arc en Ciel

On the D579, some 2 km. from Vallon towards Ruoms, at ‘LIDL’ roundabout, turn south onto minor road towards village of Les Mazes and site. Travel through the village, noting the signs, 1.5 km.
