Alan Rogers Review of Camping Angosto
This is an eco-friendly site with basic facilities surrounded by wooded hills near the Valderejo National Park. Opened in 1999, a keen young team run things efficiently, gearing the site towards families. Most of the pitches are seasonal and in high season it is bustling and very Spanish! The limited number of touring pitches are flat and of average size. There is a large area for tents. Young trees have been planted around the site and are beginning to provide a little shade. The attractive, heated pool has a sliding roof for inclement weather. A phone call before arriving is essential to establish availability.
Attractive walks start just outside the site perimeter and deer can often be spotted. The area has one of the largest colonies of vultures in Northern Spain. As the site is one hour from Bilbao we see it as a most pleasant stopover or a chance to sample the rustic simplicity of the area.
